Christian and Emma live and work in Copenhagen’s city center. They wanted a wedding not just to reflect their love of the city, but to be an unforgettable experience for their guests as well. In short, they planned the perfect day.
As a photographer this wedding challenged my abilities as the minute we did anything out in public, the bridal pair were swarmed by throngs of tourists wanting to get a photo with them or of them. Some were very rude and pushy, but the couple and I laughed about it because what else can you do? (I will say if you ever see a couple getting married and think it would be great for your social media accounts to get a photo, maybe have look around first and make sure you aren’t disturbing them or their photographer. )
In the end, all the attention made Christian and Emma feel a bit like rockstars, and that’s how I will always remember this wedding.
Our “rockstar” tour of Copenhagen included the bride getting ready near the Grand Theater, the marriage ceremony at the Marble Church, followed by a ride in a classic Mustang. Their couples photos were taken at Amalienborg Castle where I had the driver repeatedly drive in circles to exaust the tourists who were actually running after the car! Next stop the Royal Library Gardens, followed by a harbor and canal tour meeting back up with the wedding guests. Lastly we walked to the reception hall at KFUK on St. Kannikestræde in the city center, where the reception and dinner took place.
From start to finish this wedding was a 12 hour marathon full of amazing places, laughter and love.
