Copenhagen provides the perfect backdrop for wedding photography. Mads and Sidsel wanted a simple stress free wedding so they choose a photo session at the Botanical Garden followed by a ceremony at Copenhagen City Hall.
We started our day early in the morning at the Copenhagen Botanical Garden close to Nørreport Station in the middle of the city. It is is part of the Natural History Museum of Denmark, at the University of Copenhagen and holds the largest Danish collection of living plants . The centerpiece of the garden is a fantastic Palm House built 1874. The inspiration for the Palm House was based on the Crystal Palace in London. It makes for a dreamy backdrop especially on a rainy day, which it was.
Doing the wedding photo session first thing in the morning has many benefits. If the location is well visited by tourists and locals, a session there before 10:00 means there are fewer people. Also if you have lunch with family planned for after the ceremony, doing the photos beforehand means you can go directly with family and friends, no waiting for photos afterwards.
After the photo session in the botanical garden, we drove to Copenhagen City Hall where they had the ceremony and caught a few photos of rice after.
Easy, stress free, yet dreamy and memorable.
