Being a wedding photographer in Copenhagen means sometimes you have to deal with rain. Annika and Frederik traveled from Gothenburg, Sweden to get married Copenhagen in a very low key but romantic day. They wanted a day just for themselves and in grand Copenhagen style they got rain. Some would think it is unlucky to have rain on the wedding day, but in all honesty if you are brave, and don’t mind getting a bit wet, the photos can be amazing. Rain creates a soft misty romantic feel. And because you can’t fight the weather, you might as well enjoy it. If you are traveling to Copenhagen to get married, I always recommend you find an umbrella or two that you won’t mind looking at in your wedding photos for the next 50 years. It is an opportunity to have a little fun, as you can choose the colors and pattern for your umbrella. (My personal favorite— polka dots.) Just stay away from black as it makes it too dark underneath to see faces.
We started the day at Copenhagen City Hall where the marriage ceremony was performed. After we toured the city center and found some lovely classic Copenhagen architecture and stairways. When the rain really began to come down, we hid under the famous Langebro which links Copenhagen to the island Amager.
